Elective Courses



	Core Courses Laboratory Courses Elective Courses Team Projects Seminars and Field Trips Online Course Material	It is not mandatory that students take electives, but it is strongly recommended. It is possible to enroll in as many as five, and to drop those of lesser interest at a later time. Elective courses meet for 2 hours per week, usually in the afternoon or evenings for the first 4 weeks of the program. This year's elective courses are: Astrophysics Basics of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Information Machine Learning Mathematics Problem Seminar The Origin of Mathematical Ideas: Some Case Studies Philosophy of Science Discrete Math Laboratory
